About Me

I'm a Utah mom, just trying to make ends meet. Several years ago, I was introduced to a new way of couponing. I've been addicted ever since. I have a hard time paying full price for anything anymore.

I love couponing so much, I decided to become a teacher for Grocery Smarts.

I teach free classes and show you how to get everything you need at the grocery store and still leave $$$ in your pocket. I'll also teach you the best ways to get and organize your coupons. The best part of the class is when I show you how to match your current coupons up with the current local sales - getting the most bang for your buck!

Question of the day

Occasionally, I get questions asked that I'd like to address. Today's question is: "I go shopping on Wednesday and by the time I get there, the store is out of the items I wanted. What do you suggest?"

This is actually a good question. I will make several recommendations.

1 - If the sale is a really popular sale (like a General Mills, Campbells Soup, Quaker etc...), my suggestion is to know the dates of your sale (ex: the date the sale starts vs. ends). If you want the best selection you need to be to that store when it opens on the first day of the sale, to get the best selection. With the number of savvy shoppers out there, many people are looking over their ads and shopping for the same great buys you're after.

2 - Knowing that #1 is not possible for everyone the next thing I would suggest is knowing when the store you shop at gets their shipments in. If you know this information, you can try picking up these items after they have re-stocked their shelves.

3 - You can also pick up a raincheck for any missing items you may have wanted and could not pick up. If you have coupons that are associated with the purchase you need to make sure you buy these items with the raincheck and prior to your coupons expiring - otherwise you will only get the store deal and not the discount with the added coupons.

4 - You may also want to check at a 2nd store to see if you can pick up the items at a different location.

5 - Lastly - if you plan to buy a lot of a specific item, you can go to the customer service desk and inquire about ordering the number of items you'd like. This secures that you get these sale items and the number you want. *** Most stores will do a special order for you, but not all will.***

If you have specific questions that you'd like to ask - I'd love to hear them. Many people have good questions and this is a great way to address them. Feel free to email me at callmestacy@yahoo.com or leave a comment with a question.
