Calling all Garage Sale Enthusiasts........

I will also be selling newspaper subscriptions (any in the state). If you're interested in getting the best deal in town on the SL Trib or D News, stop by and get your subscription started ($39/yr).

Hopefully I'll see you bright and early on Saturday morning!

Kids Cooking Classes - For Your Kitchen

So are you looking for some fun things to do with your kids yet? I took 2 of my kids to For Your Kitchen yesterday (they are located at the Newgate Mall in Ogden, UT). Once a month they offer a kids cooking class (usually on a Saturday afternoon). They highlight different cuisines. My kids did Hawaiian cooking yesterday. The class ran about 2 hours, so it gave me some great shopping time without the kids :) They made Teriyaki meatballs with rice, a Macadamia Pie and an Hawaiian Donut. My kids enjoyed the class - especially eating what they made. Other kids classes that are coming up are: Italian, Korean and Greek.

For Your Kitchen, also offers a variety of other classes for adults like: Bread Basics, Cake Decorating, Dehydrating, Date Night cooking (for you and your spouse/date) and Gourmet Pizza. For a full list of classes, dates, times and registration, click here. You may also call 800-919-1175 for more information.

I would have normally said this was a great way to beat the heat, but it was pouring rain - either way, it was fun and my kids enjoyed the hands on cooking experience!

Newspaper prices - still the right price

I know - I sound like a broken record, but I have really good intentions. The Salt Lake Papers have extended their great price. I was sure it would end early this week, but it hasn't. If you're still debating on whether to get the paper or not, this is the best time to order.

I teach free couponing classes and can show you how to save between 40% and 60% (sometimes even more) every shopping trip.

Give me a call - I can set you up with this spectacular deal $39 for a whole year of Sunday papers (also includes Friday, Saturday and e-edition). This is $.75 a week (new subscriptions only).

I turn in my orders in on Friday evenings and your subscription will start the following weekend. 801.589.3946 - Call today to start getting your papers next week!

Newspaper deal is almost gone....

Wow - you put the newspaper on sale and you get a response! I'm so glad that many of you have been able to "cash in" on this great deal! So many of us rely on coupons just to make ends meet (at least I do).

I mentioned before that we don't have an end date on this newspaper sale, but I know it won't last. I'm waiting to hear word (tomorrow) if we've run out of time.

Remember if you want the best deal I've seen in several years on the Salt Lake Tribune or the Deseret News - now is the time to act!

These papers can be delivered throughout most of Utah and because they are the biggest papers in the state they also come with added coupons several times a year (a benefit that other newspapers don't get).

It's only $.75 a week, for one year. That makes it $39 for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday papers along with the e-edtion. Trust me, in one to two shopping trip (using coupons) you will make up the cost ($39) of your year long subscription. This is a valuable offer and you don't want to miss out.

Call me if you'd like to pick up the Salt Lake Tribune or Deseret News - 801-589-3946.

Want a newspaper deal that includes prices from 2 years ago?

You don't want to miss this great newspaper deal! Honestly, I haven't seen these prices in over 2 years (back when I originally started getting the papers). So here's the deal:

This is for the Salt Lake Tribune and the Deseret News only.

You get the weekend edition (Friday, Saturday and Sunday and the e-edition for the rest of the week). Price ~ $39, for 52 weeks (ONE WHOLE YEAR) ~ Total = $.75 per week!!!!!

You can't beat this price. You can't even pick up a newspaper at your local convenience store or Walmart for this price. This is for new subscriptions only.

If you've been thinking of ordering to get those additional coupons this is the best offer you can get. If you want to place your order, please contact me ASAP. I'm not sure when this sale will end, it could be any day at any time (we're at the mercy of the newspapers).

You can email me at callmestacy@yahoo.com or call me at 801-589-3946. I hope to hear from you soon :0) Hurry before it's GOING, GOING, ALMOST GONE!

Some mail days are better than others....

So this is what I got in the mail today. I don't know what it is, but I love to get stuff in the mail!!! I guess it's the up side to getting bills :(

Here's what I got today. Granted this isn't a huge haul, but it's always fun to see what kinds of things you can get. I think the best part is actually getting the good coupons that go with the samples.

Today brought me:

A trial size, Pantene shampoo and conditioner, plus 4 coupons

A trial size, Dove deodrant/antiperspirant

A trial size, Lever bar of soap

A coupon for a free Butterfinger candy bar

So what do I do with all this stuff???? Well recently, I was trying to finish up putting 3 additional 72 hours kits together and some of this stuff would work great it one of those. It's also nice to be able to grab these trial size things for quick trips. I keep a container of this kind of stuff in my hall closet for those times when I need it.

As for the Butterfinger ~ hmmmm....I'm still deciding whether it's my treat or a treat for the prize bag I use when my kids have done extra chores around the house. Either way, all this stuff is fun and useful. I just wanted to share what it's like to get more samples and freebies in the mail than it is to get bills!

With Summer right around the corner, I'm sure we'll all be looking for cheap and cool places to hang out!

Here's a link to the Cinemark Summer Movie Program.

Week 2 Monsters vs. Aliens (Jun 14-17)

Week 3 Water Horse (Jun 21-24)

***Show times will be at 10:00 am and 12:10 pm. Purchase the punch passes for $12.00 and $6.00 will go directly to support your school and the PTA. Kids will also recieve a dollar off concessions. All movies will be G or PG. (The form, I picked up said it would be going home with kids at school - otherwise you can pick one up at the theaters). If you don't buy a punch pass, all movies above will be $2.00 per ticket at the box office.***

Cyndi took advantage of Smith's Double coupons!

I recently taught a Grocery Smarts, couponing class at Cyndi's house. I'm so excited for her! She had her coupons in hand and went shopping on Monday (yesterday) and really cashed in. Look at what she got for $43.00! Cyndi paid about $.57 per item and there were 76 items. Before the double coupons were factored in her total was about $150!

She even did better than me! I spent $42.xx, but my original bill was $111.xx.

Congratulations Cyndi!

If you'd like to learn how to save between 40% and 60% (and sometimes more - see above) on every grocery trip I can teach you how. It's a free class - you can email me at callmestacy@yahoo.com or call me at 801-589-3946.

Free kids glasses at Target Optical

Not only did we jump into braces recently, but we also needed glasses for my daughter. We actually got a really good deal on her glasses at the place we got her original pair, but I saw today on Pinching Your Pennies that you can get a free pair of glasses from Target Optical.

A couple of weeks ago, my daughter took a tumble at recess and managed to scratch her glasses pretty good. I got to thinking that a second pair of glasses would be a really good thing right now! So here's the deal :)

• 1 pair per househould per year (ages 5-12)

• you need a valid prescription (or you can pay for an exam at Target)

• only a select variety available and you can also purchase an additional $25 extended warranty

• you also need to call your local Target to make an appt.

So if you find yourself in the same boat - check out Target Optical for a free pair :)

~Thanks PYP!

Houseparty

Have you ever heard of Houseparty? Do you like to get together with friends, neighbors or family? This is a really fun website to join.

I joined a while ago, but never went in and signed up for a party. One night a few months ago, I was teaching a coupon class and the hostess told me all about Houseparty and how fun they were.

I went in and signed up and I'm hosting my first Houseparty in a couple of weeks. I was chosen to host an Underwriters Laboratory, Going Green Party.

I ended up getting 15 of each of the following items.

15 reusable totes, 15 empty UL logo spray bottles, 15 Environmentally-friendly cleaning cloths, 15 natural sponges and 15 funnels.
I have a group of girls between the ages of 10 and 11 that I work with in my church. I think this will be the perfect setting to teach the girls about what they can do to go green even at their age. I also plan to make a homemade cleaner that I got a recipe for through the Utah State Extension office website.

Right now Houseparty is currently taking applications for Gerber Generation, 2010 French Cocktail Hour, Hasbro Game Night and Breyers Summer to Remember. All you have to do is sign up through their website. They will let you know which party you get to host (sign up for multiple parties) and they do all the rest. They basically walk you through everything. They offer online invites, they send you the box of "stuff (coupons, giveaways, free things)" for your party, there's online chats that help you come up with fun ideas for hosting your party, handouts etc....

When my party is over, they will send me a survey that I need to fill out and I'm off to apply for more parties. I can't wait! It will be fun to have a variety of people over to enjoy my next great party!

I hope you have fun with Houseparty - I know I will!

$1.00 Printer Cartridge Refills @ Walgreens

Everyone who knows me, knows I love a good deal. I was outside yesterday and my neighbor told me that for $1.00 at Walgreen's you can get your printer cartridge refilled tomorrow only! These usually cost a lot more than $1.00 (it's been a while since I've had it done). What a nice way to help us all go a little greener!

You can use this link to print your own coupon.

Thanks ~ Nay!

Discovery Gateway $5 passes through April 30th

Are you looking for something cheap and fun to do with the kids? Maybe Discovery Gateway has what you're looking for. Click on the link above to print your coupon.

Make sure to use this great deal by 4/30/10. It's also good for up to 4 people!! ~ Thanks to Utah Shopping Secrets or PYP

Smith's Quaker sale - one of the best sales this year!

We are BIG cereal eaters at my house and so when a deal like this comes around I jump on it!

This week at Smith's they are having a 5 for $5 Quaker Cereal Sale (Cap'N Crunch varieties as well as Quaker oatmeal varieties - see the Smith's ad for all the details).

Yesterday, you should have received your big packet of "junk mail." Hopefully you didn't throw it away. In the Associated Food Store ads (Reams, Macey's, Winegar's, Kents, Harmons, Fresh Market...just to name a few) there's a manufacturer's coupon for $3.00 off the purchase of 5 Quaker products.

Luckily I had 5 of these ads (I guess sometimes it helps to live so close to so many AF stores). I took my 5 coupons to Smith's this morning and this is what I got.

25 boxes of Quaker Cereal for $11.50!!!!

Now that's what I call a good deal :)

After taking the additional $3.00 off the original $5.00 purchase it made each box of cereal $.40 each!

Thanks to Utah Deal Diva for the great post yesterday! I'm glad I got to Smith's early today for the best selection.

So what are you waiting for? Get to Smith's to cash in on this super easy coupon deal!!!! Even if you don't have the extra coupons a $1.00 per box is still a pretty good price on cereal these days.

Olay Quench for Clunkers

I haven't personally tried this yet - but I can't wait to pick up a bottle. I just ran across this ad while I was using the new Swagbucks site (see previous blog entry or use the banner right above this entry). You can earn swagbucks for doing surveys etc....

So I was really excited when Olay offered a free mail-in-rebate for their new Quench body lotion. You'll want to do this soon, since the offer ends on 4/16/10 (rebates need to be received by 4/30/10).

Check out this link on You Tube ~ Franglea's music video is pretty funny! You can also pick up the rebate here.
