Smith's is really coming on board :)

If you haven't already heard - Smith's is doing another double coupon event. It will run from 7/28 (6:00 am) to 7/31 (midnight). If you haven't participated in their double coupon days, you'll certainly want to. You are maximizing your coupon buying power and getting sooo much more for less $$.

So here's how it will work: Any coupon you bring in that is less than $1.00 will have its value brought up to $1.00.

So a coupon worth $.10 = $1.00

$.25 = $1.00

$.55 = $1.00

$.75 = $1.00

The shopping lists have not come out yet so matchups are still a bit of a mystery. In the meantime, one of my favorite things to do is use the Grocery Smarts alphabetical list of coupons and do a quick review of the things I need to fill in my pantry and clip those coupons. This list is very handy when stores do this kind of sale.

Cyndi took advantage of Smith's Double coupons!

I recently taught a Grocery Smarts, couponing class at Cyndi's house. I'm so excited for her! She had her coupons in hand and went shopping on Monday (yesterday) and really cashed in. Look at what she got for $43.00! Cyndi paid about $.57 per item and there were 76 items. Before the double coupons were factored in her total was about $150!

She even did better than me! I spent $42.xx, but my original bill was $111.xx.

Kmart ~ Double coupon days (April 4th to April 10th)

As a seasoned couponer, Kmart has really been wishy washy in Utah with doubling coupons. At last, this is really happening for us (and yes, I know I'm a few days late in posting this).

There are rules to follow, so rather than repeating what everyone else is posting ~ I'm gonna send you to my friend over at thethriftycouple. Thanks Cassie!

So take advantage of some additional savings - as we know here in Utah, it won't last long!

More Kmart double coupon info - you'll want to read!

So, I was reading Surviving Recession 101 and she basically summed up the Kmart deal. Check out her blog for all the details. I can't wait to have doubles back in Utah. Even though our Kmarts don't have a big "grocery" section, this is a great time to stock up on cleaning, hair care, soaps, razors, detergent and paper products. One thing you may not think of is coupons for Hanes or Fruit of the Loom. We'll just have to see what's out there when the doubles start.

Great Kmart coupon - get it while it's HOT!

I don't shop at Kmart very often, but I live close to one and enjoy stopping in from time to time. This is the pretty good coupon for Kmart. Click on this link and print the coupon located in the upper right corner near the blue light. The coupon is good from 3/15/10 to 5/22/10.

For any of you that have been couponing, you'll know that double coupon opportunities don't happen often in Utah. Last year Kmart did double coupons a couple of times, but it wasn't consistent and not in every Utah store. Rumor has it, that next month Kmart may offer double coupon days again. This coupon would be very nice to have when that happens.

So, if a shopping trip to Kmart is in your future - take advantage of this great coupon!

Smith's is Doubling Coupons 8/2 to 8/4

Smiths is doubling coupons up to $1.00 (so a $1.00 coupon becomes $2.00). Check out this link on Pinching Your Pennies for more details. You'll probably need to scroll down the page to see it. It was posted on 8/2/09. There's a chart indicating the worth of a doubled coupon. This is a great time to take advantage of some double savings!

Rolling it over at Albertsons

Hopefully you took advantage of last weeks Albertson's sale, especially the General Mills sale.

Once again I procrastinated until the very last minute. Yes, I was there at 11:00 pm on Tuesday night. I thought I would be the only one there, and was pleasantly surprised to see about 6 or 7 other ladies doing the same thing. It was actually kind of fun because we were all helping each other find the specific sale items.

Okay - drum roll please....... I spent a total of $63.64 and saved $122.98. WOOT! WOOT!

It worked like this, Purchase #1:I had to spend $25 (before coupons and Albertsons savings) on General Mills products in order to get $10 back (Catalina at the register).

I bought:

4 Fiber One cereals

1 Plain Cheerios

6 Cheerios with crunch

(After all my coupons and Albertson's savings card I spent $21.25 and saved $28.87 and earned $10. I also used 1 set of *Albertson's double coupons).

Purchase #2

I took the $10 from my first purchase and bought:
2 Betty Crocker Stickerz fruit snacks
2 boxes of Cheerios
2 Yoplait Gogurts
2, 1/2 gallon Breyers ice cream
3, 6 pks of Coke
(I spent $7.09 and saved $40.73 and earned another $10. I also used another set of *double coupons).

Purchase #3

4 jars of Ragu spaghetti sauces

2 jars of Skippy peanut butter

6 boxes of Betty Crocker fruit snacks

(I spent $9.16 and saved $29.58. This earned me another $10 and they let me use another set of *Albertson's double coupons).

Purchase #4

2 pkgs of Yoplait Kids yogurt

2 8oz Kraft singles

1 jar of Ragu spaghetti sauce

1 gallon Albertsons oj

4 pkgs Bar S Chicken Jumbo franks

8 DiGiorno Flatbread Melts (raincheck from last weeks sale)

(I spent $26.14 and saved $23.80. I did not earn another $10 because the yogurt and Ragu were the only GM products in this purchase and it did not total $25).

*Each store determines how they will allow you to use the double coupons. Check with your store before assuming you can use more than one set*

This is how I got to the above savings. Sometimes these sales take a little planning ahead of time. In my opinion, it's worth the planning for the savings on the other end.

Albertsons Jackpot

I wanted to take advantage of the last day of Albertson's Kraft sale. I was procrastinating this week but, I'm really glad I did because I saved a ton!

I spent $37.01 and saved $116.27!

Most of this will be put into the pantry as a "Stock Up" item. I love being able to add variety to my pantry and not have to spend a lot for it. I used my double coupons and took advantage of the $3.00 back for every $10 I spent on Kraft products.

My double coupon purchase's @ Albertson's

I took advantage of the double coupons today. I checked with my store before purchasing anything to see if they would or would not allow me to use more than one set of double coupons in my stop today. They advised me that they would only allow me to use one set (coupons 1-4 or one sheet) and that if I wanted to use more, I would need to come back.

Anyway - here's what I got.

1 Stouffer's Lasagna $9.99

2 Hershey's Bliss chocolate easter eggs $1.00 each

1 pkg of Dentyne gum $1.59

(not pictured 3 Bug Juices - for the kids) $.89 each

I paid a total of $16.86 and saved $15.88 - almost a 50% savings.

Albertson's Sale 1/7/09 to 1/13/09

This is going to be a pretty good sale!!! It will work very similar to the really good sale we had a few months ago. Remember the one that you had to group things together and spend $30 and get $15 back? Well this is one is going to work the same way. Pinching Your Pennies has a great blog on this sale if you want to check it out. The best part of this sale is going to be that Albertson's is allowing you to double some of your coupons. Here's an example of how it would work.

Deal scenario:
3 pampers x $10 each (rough estimate) = $30
3 manufacturers coupons ($1) doubled = $30 - $6 = $24
$15 catalina when you buy $30 = $24 - $15 = $9
$5 catalina when you buy $25 baby products = $9 - $5 = $4!!!!!

This sale is definately worth checking out - especially if you need baby items. Let me know if you have any questions.

Kmart is doubling coupons again (1/4/09 to 1/9/09)

My trip to Kmart (double coupons

I've mis-placed my receipt, so I'm going from memory. I hope this helps someone. Some of the deals were better than others - no freebies this time.

Cereal was 4 for $10 and I had 4, $1.00 coupons - making each box $.50

Reynolds Wrap foil (75 feet) was $2.99, I had 4 coupons for $1.00 off - making each box $.99

Opti-Free was $8.xx and I had 4, $3.50 coupons (I'm not sure if they doubled or not - I'm still trying to find the reciept - my guess is that they didn't though).

Lysol (I can't remember the price, nor the coupons)

Reese's clusters (can't remember the price), but had 2, $1.00 coupons

Hershey's candy (can't remember the price - $7.xx??), but I had a coupon for $1.50 off with the purchase of three.

Kraft crackers (they were a bribe to get my 3 year old to behave for just a few more minutes).

I think my receipt came to a total of $80.xx and I saved $46.xx.

I promise that when I find the receipt I will post an update. Sorry this is so not-helpful. I went a few days ago and am just getting around to posting it.

I wanted to buy more, but I had my 2 boys with me and it made shopping a little difficult (especially when the youngest just had shots). Maybe I'll try again later this week.

Kmart is doubling coupons/Shopko's daily surprises

So, everything I'm reading is saying that Kmart is now currently doubling coupons from 11/30/08 to 12/6/08. Go through your coupons and shop, shop, shop!!!! There are some restrictions listed below - so go prepared. This sale really paid off for me last time!!! Even though Kmart doesn't sell a lot of food items, this is a great way to stock up on medicine, shampoo/conditioner, paper products, makeup etc.....

Super Double Manufacturer Coupons up to & Including $2 Value.

Amount of Credit from doubling a coupon cannot exceed the retail price of an item. No cash or in-store purchase credit will be awarded for any amount exceeding the retail price of the item. Limit 1 coupon for each item purchased. Only 1 coupon will be doubled per item. You may only purchase 4 of the same items using double coupons. Coupons do not apply to sales tax. Limit 75 coupons per customer per day. Internet coupons or copies of manufacturer instant coupons are not valid.

I also got an email from Shopko today announcing a daily surprise. You need to go to their website everyday to see the announced sale. If you don't have one of their "My Extra Saving's cards," stop by and apply for one (they are similar to Smith's or Albertson's cards). I believe you have to have one of these cards in order to get the deal at the advertised price.
