So are you looking for some fun things to do with your kids yet? I took 2 of my kids to For Your Kitchen yesterday (they are located at the Newgate Mall in Ogden, UT). Once a month they offer a kids cooking class (usually on a Saturday afternoon). They highlight different cuisines. My kids did Hawaiian cooking yesterday. The class ran about 2 hours, so it gave me some great shopping time without the kids :) They made Teriyaki meatballs with rice, a Macadamia Pie and an Hawaiian Donut. My kids enjoyed the class - especially eating what they made. I would have normally said this was a great way to beat the heat, but it was pouring rain - either way, it was fun and my kids enjoyed the hands on cooking experience!
